Once known as Mount Mengle, Wuliang gets its name from the phrase “so tall it touches the clouds, so vast it cannot be measured”.
A mix of wild, naturally hybridized, and cultivated old-growth tea trees thrive across its wide forested elevations, ranging from 1600 to 2800 meters.
The liquor is open and transparent, with clarity and depth. Each infusion reveals a new layer — ten steeps, ten expressions — like echoes from deep within the forest. Its aroma is pure and natural, often carrying notes of wildflowers, leaves, and the clean scent of mountain forest.
Though less famous than other tea mountains, Wuliang is believed to be one of the earliest centers of tea cultivation, with planting said to have begun as early as the Three Kingdoms period.
